Sports Physical Therapy in Kingsport, TN

  • What is sports physical therapy?

Sports physical therapy treats injuries and movement problems in people who want to get back to a sport or an active life. It goes past pain relief and rebuilds strength, power, and control until the body can handle the real demands of the activity.

At Tri Star Strength x Rehab in Kingsport, Tennessee, every session is a full hour, one-on-one, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who is also a certified strength coach and heavily equipped with sports science tech to obtain/track progress. We test with force plates, strength testing, and timing gates, so decisions come from numbers instead of a guess.

  • Most people get discharged. Very few get cleared.

Here is how it usually goes. Insurance approves a set number of visits. The visits run out. Someone checks a box that says goals met, and you leave with a sheet of exercises.

That box often means something like how far your knee bends while you lie on a table. It does not mean your body can cut, land, sprint, lift, or throw.

So you go back to your sport, or your gym, or your life, and you hope.

Athletes who went back without passing objective testing had a 38.2% reinjury rate. Athletes who passed had 5.6%.

How we treat it.

We treat the way we train. Load is the medicine, and we build it

back on purpose instead of telling you to rest and hope.

That means slow, controlled loading for tendon problems. It means

earning positions before we load them, so shoulders get strong down

low before they go overhead. It means your plan looks like training,

because getting back to your sport is a training problem once the

pain settles down.

Your plan comes from testing, not from a template. Force plates,

strength testing both sides, and timing gates tell us where you

actually are, and we retest every 6 to 12 weeks so you can see it

working. Numbers don’t lie.

Why we are built different.

Our doctors lift.

Two of our clinicians are Doctors of Physical Therapy who are also

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists.

This is our building.

Not a room rented inside somebody else's gym. Our facility, our

equipment, our turf.

We don't stop when the pain stops.

Most clinics finish when you feel better. Here that is where the

next part starts.

We are here.

One team in Kingsport. You will not get passed to a different

person every visit.
